E.Q:  What are major understandings and ideas of British literature?
Obj: I can identify major understandings and ideas of the time periods in British literature.

Free Write Friday

Every Friday you will have time to write whatever you want.
This can be stories, rants, poems, fanfiction, etc.
The only requirement is that you write the whole time.
You should strive to reach 1/2 page.

Each of you will present your t-shirt to the class.
Make sure that you explain the different elements that represent you.


2.  Class Folder

Google Drive is a major tool that we will utilize in this class.
Use this time to create an English IV folder.
Within that main folder create the following subfolders:
Starter
Assignments
Vocabulary
Closure

Also, move your introduction paper and free write to this folder. 

3.  Brit Lit Time Period Mini Project
In small groups, you will be assigned a time period to research and present to the class.

The Time Periods:
Old English/Anglo-Saxon
Medieval
Renaissance
Restoration/Neoclassical
Romanticism
Victorian
Modern
Post Modern


Checklist for Research Project:

3 Important/Influential Historical People and Their Role (5 points)
10-15 Historical Events during Time Period (20 points)
(MUST NOT USE PREMADE TIMELINE!!)
5 Significant Authors and Name of their Literary Piece (10 points)
Cultural Philosophy (5 points)
Major Themes and Genres of Literature (5 points)
Analysis of how writing impacted people. (5 points)
Citations (5 points)
Organization (5 points)

Presentation should last approximately 5-7 minutes.

This information must be organized and cited!
